| It's here! Playa Vista's seven-acre park features a Little League baseball field, soccer field, two half basketball courts, two tennis courts, and a universally-accessible playground. There's no other place in Los Angeles like this. And on the prime westside too. |
The Playa Vista soccer field is synthetic turf made from polyethylene to prevent burn wounds caused by sliding. This soccer field requires no irrigation, fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides or mowing-so it produces no green waste. The Playa Vista Little League baseball field has grass turf to withstand heavy use. Over half of the park's plants are either native, drought-tolerant or low water to reduce irrigation.

 | Of the two half Playa Vista basketball courts, one features an adjustable backboard that can be lowered for young children. Due to the sophisticated subsurface drainage systems, rain water quickly drains away, allowing athletes to play ball year round. The trail is constructed of decomposed granite, a material that helps reduce the amount of storm water runoff and lessens the impact on joints for joggers and walkers. |
| Playa Vista now has Shane's Inspiration, a universally-accessible playground for children of all abilities at in the new Sports Park. Shane’s Inspiration is a nationally-recognized non-profit organization dedicated to helping handicapped children intergrate with normal functioning children. This Playa Vista playground is one of 11 other uniquely designed Shane’s Inspiration playgrounds throughout Southern California. These programs ahve been such a success that 71 similar projects are in development throughout the U.S.and as far away as Bangalore, India. |  |
